Anne had the pleasure of collaborating and supporting the Quebec VFX and Animation industry for 7 years as part of the team of the Quebec Film and Television Council. Now a Production Manager at DNEG, she is making sure to be involved and support the industry as part of SIGGRAPH’s Montreal chapter and through CAFÉ’s programming committee.
Benoit Terminet Schuppon (He/Him)
Officer – ACM SIGGRAPH Montréal
After 11 years with DNEG in various positions, Benoit is currently Head of Layout at DNEG Montréal. Benoit has been driven by a desire to benefit the CG Community as demonstrated by his decade of SIGGRAPH Volunteering. This includes founding the current iteration of the London ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter in the UK. Montréal has a special place in his heart, it is here that as a teenager, he confirmed his career choice while visiting the city and taking a 5-day 3DS Max course at NAD.
Brigitte Monneau (She/Her)
Executive Director – SYNTHÈSE – Pôle Image Québec
Brigitte has over 25 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry. She is the head of SYNTHÈSE, an organization dedicated to the development of talent and the training-employment matching for the digital creative industries. With a background in law, she began her career in television production companies before joining Telefilm Canada where she held several management positions at the national and international levels. Involved in gender and equity issues, she then became the Executive Director of Allia (Alliance des femmes des industries créatives du Québec).
Ian Failes (He/Him)
Founder/Editor – befores & afters
Ian Failes is a journalist based in Sydney specializing in visual effects and animation. He runs the VFX and animation publication befores & afters (beforesandafters.com), an online publication, podcast, and print magazine. He has written for several publications including fxguide, Cartoon Brew, VFX Voice, 3D Artist, and 3D World. Ian is the author of the book, Masters of FX. He holds the world’s largest collection of memorabilia from the film Speed.
Julie Silva (She/Her)
Project Manager – The Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC)
Julie Silva started as a special projects coordinator at the QFTC in February 2021 and is now a project manager. With a degree in business and management in the entertainment industry, she is currently implementing programs developed with the school NAD, The Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables (CQEER), as well as several special projects within the audiovisual cluster of the QFTC.
Julien Coll (He/Him)
Research and Innovation Advisor – CDRIN
After 7 years as a tech artist in the game and animation industry, Julien joined CDRIN to push his curiosity further. He now holds a position as a Research and Innovation Advisor, which allows him to be in contact with the innovations of the sector and to allow the industry to push the limits. He is passionate about new technologies, art, cinema, and IT.
Scott Carroll (He/Him)
Global Head of Animation – Mikros Animation
Scott Carroll began his feature film career 20 years ago as an Animator at Industrial Light and Magic. In 2005, he moved to Blue Sky Studios, where he animated on the Ice Age films, Horton Hears a Who, Epic, and many others. After eight films, Scott became a Supervising Animator, spearheading the animation for The Peanuts Movie (2015), Ferdinand (2017), and Nimona (unreleased). In 2021, he became the Global Head of Animation at Mikros Animation where he oversees all aspects of character performance at their studios in Montreal, Paris, and Bangalore.
Thierry Frey (He/Him)
Consultant and Nominations Committee Chair – ACM SIGGRAPH
Thierry Frey has over 25 years of experience in software development in various fields: CADCAM, printing and publishing, 3D animation, real-time technologies, augmented and virtual reality. He has been a long-time volunteer in the computer graphics field, an active member of ACM SIGGRAPH, and a Board Member of Laval Virtual. Thierry holds a master’s degree from Télécom ParisTech and a degree in computer graphics from the École National Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
Yvon Jardel (He/Him)
Senior Head of Motion – RodeoFX
Yvon Jardel, Senior Head of Motion at Rodeo FX, brings a wealth of experience, a remarkable work ethic, and an inventive approach to animation. Having contributed his skills to more than 13 feature films, and over 30 shows, he’s honed his ability to make fictional creatures and characters come to life while becoming an inspiring leader for his teams. At Rodeo FX, Yvon Jardel’s notable list of projects includes Stranger Things Seasons 3 & 4, Jumanji: The Next Level, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and IT.
